Neil Lennon has compared the Celtic star with one of the best players on the planet, Manchester City superstar Kevin de Bruyne.

Celtic are absolutely flying at the moment. After losing the Glasgow Derby to the Rangers before going into the break, there were fears that the club might be in trouble if they did not strengthen considerably in January.

Of course, Patryk Klimala and Ismaila Soro were brought in, but those fears have been proven to be premature to say the least. Rangers have looked like a shell of their pre-winter break self over the last few weeks, dropping 5 points in their last three league games. As a result, the eight-time defending champions of Scotland are back in complete control.

As a result, Neil Lennon is surely a happy man at the moment. And compliments seem to be flying around for his players. One such player that he paid the ultimate tribute to earlier is Ryan Christie as the Celtic boss compared him with Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne.

As reported by the Daily Record, while speaking about the Celtic superstar Lennon said:

"“His energy’s fantastic, his enthusiasm’s fantastic but more than anything it’s his quality.“The quality of the ball for the second goal is De Bruyne-esque.“Having Ryan back after being out for almost a month is such a bonus for us.”"

The Belgian is arguably the best player in the Premier League at the moment and easily one of the ten best players on the planet at the moment. Thus, any comparison with him is a big deal, especially coming from Lennon.

Ryan Christie had to undergo emergency groin surgery earlier this month after the Glasgow Derby. And he was also handed a three-game ban by the SFA for what appeared to be an accidental grabbing Alfredo Morelos’ groin region.

The Scot is back now though, either from suspension or from injury, whichever you prefer. And made a big impact coming off the bench against Hamilton Academical earlier in Celtic’s 4-1 away win to go 7 points clear of Steven Gerrard’s men.
