Another star might be on his way out of Parkhead as West Ham United are reportedly in advanced talks to sign the Celtic midfielder.

Despite losing the Glasgow Derby at home heading into the January transfer window, Celtic have not been afraid of letting a number of their players leave. Scott Sinclair was allowed to join Preston North End after spending the first half of the season rotting in the reserves and Lewis Morgan is also expected to leave for Inter Miami, although that move has stalled for a long time for some reason. A number of fringe stars have left on loan as well.

In contrast, there have not been as many players who have come into the club in this window. Patryk Klimala and Ismaila Soro have been the only signings although Celtic were expected to do a lot more in this window with nine-in-a-row hanging in the balance after the reemergence of Rangers this season as a genuine threat to the Premiership title.

But one news that has come completely out of the blue is the possible departure of Olivier Ntcham. According to Foot Mercado, West Ham United are in advanced talks to sign the French midfielder.

With the London club in the middle of a relegation battle, they were expected to bring heavy reinforcements in this transfer window. Yet only Darren Randolph has been brought in till now. But if this reports are to be believed, then Olivier Ntcham could soon follow.

While he still might not be a part of Celtic’s strongest XI, Ntcham has emerged as a very important part of Lennon’s plans this season. The midfielder has made 31 appearances for the Hoops, scoring 5 times and assisting a further 4. Thus, it will be a huge loss if the Hoops do end up losing him at this late stage of the window without much time of finding a backup.
