Steven Gerrard has been trolled for his antics at Celtic Park earlier this season after Rangers lost against bottom-placed Hearts to hand the lead back to the Hoops.

Just a few short weeks ago, Rangers fans were absolutely flying after having managed to beat Celtic at Parkhead for the first time in almost a decade. You would think that they had secured the Premiership crown before January. Unfortunately, they are nowhere to be found since Steven Gerrard’s side lost 2-1 at Tynecastle Park to bottom-placed Hearts. Trust us, it’s easier to find Waldo.

Rangers have been below the par since returning from the winter break and Sunday’s result means that the control of the title race is back in Celtic’s hands. While Rangers still have a game in hand, even a win would see them two points behind their Glasgow rivals. It is results like this that could end up deciding the fate of the Premiership at the end of the season.

Right now one cannot help but remember the over-the-top celebrations of Steven Gerrard at Celtic Park and laugh. Future dictionary editions should have that picture beside ‘premature’ as visual representation of the word.

And one man who could not resist taking a cheeky dig at the Rangers manager following their defeat is Kris Commons. As reported by The Scottish Sun, the former Celtic star said:

"“That’s an alarming trend and Gerrard’s celebrations at the end of the Old Firm game prior to new year now look wildly premature.“Towards the end of my career, I always tried to avoid giving it big licks.“You don’t want to end up with egg on your face, so you learn to keep a lid on it until you actually have a trophy in your hands.“From his slip against Chelsea at Anfield a few years ago, Gerrard knows just how fine the margins can be in a title race.”"

If (read: when) Celtic win the Premiership title at the end of the season and seal a historic nine-in-a-row, maybe we can play the video of a jumping and screaming Steven Gerrard at Parkhead and have a good laugh!
