Celtic might be set to welcome back a couple of huge names when they travel to Perth to take on St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Wednesday.

Celtic will be on a high when they return to Premiership action on Wednesday against St Johnstone. Rangers’ loss against bottom-placed Hearts means that the reigning Scottish champions are back in control of the title race. But that loss is a lesson for the Hoops as well – they cannot lose focus no matter where the opposition is placed on the table.

There’s more good news for the Hoops though. Both Ryan Christie and Kris Ajer will be available for selection against St Johnstone. Simunovic seems to have picked up another injury though is a doubt for the game. But at this point nobody should be surprised at the Croatian’s injury prone ways.

The most interesting thing to see will be what formation Lennon picks on Wednesday. Will he go with the lone striker up top or give the duo of Griffiths and Edouard another chance after they did done a decent job in the first two games since returning from the winter break.

Here’s how we think the Hoops will line-up against St Johnstone:

GK: Fraser Forster

RB: Moritz Bauer

CB: Christopher Jullien

CB: Kris Ajer

LB: Jonny Hayes

CM: Callum McGregor

CM: Scott Brown

RW: Ryan Christie

LW: James Forrest

ST: Odsonne Edouard

ST: Leigh Griffiths

As we’ve seen in the past, Lennon is not afraid of starting Christie on the wing. And while he did revert back to a one-man attack in the last game, it could very well be down to Edouard’s injury and not a tactical change. Thus, do not be surprised if the duo of Leigh and Eddy makes a comeback on Wednesday. Of course, another would be to drop one of the strikers and bring in Mikey Johnston in order to go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation.
