One of the longest sagas of this transfer window is set to come to an end with the midfielder finally arriving in Glasgow to complete his Celtic move.

This transfer should have been done and dusted till now. For weeks, officials from both Celtic and Bnei Yehuda have been claiming that a deal had been reached for the midfielder. Yet one thing or another has prevented Ismaila Soro from completing his move to the reigning Scottish champions.

Celtic had the best news possible yesterday when Rangers lost out to bottom-placed Hearts in order to relinquish the title race driver seat back to Celtic. And it looks like the good news will keep coming for the Hoops as Soro has now been pictured arriving in Glasgow in order to finally complete his move, days after the club had announced that he had passed his medical.

The transfer saga for the Ivorian has been dragging for quite a while now. While a transfer fee in the range of £2-million did not appear too hard to reach but a number of hurdles have appeared since then. Firstly there was the problem of reaching a deal with his agents as well. And then when everything seemed done, issues with his paperwork cropped up.

As a result, there was a genuine fear among Celtic fans that the move could fall through at the last minute with the transfer deadline approaching. Fortunately, that is not going to be the case though. As reported by BBC, Soro has arrived in Glasgow to finally take this move across the finishing line.

Soro’s playing style has drawn comparisons with the legendary N’Golo Kante, and he will without doubt be a huge addition to the Celtic squad in their quest to seal a ninth straight league title. He will be the second signing for the Hoops in this transfer window following the arrival of Partyk Klimala from Jagiellonia Bialystok for a fee of around €4-million.

*Update: Celtic have announced the signing of Ismaila Soro on a four-and-a-half year deal.
