One Celtic superstar believes that he would have calls to be banned if he made a challenge like the one that injured Jeremie Frimpong.

Celtic youngster, Jeremie Frimpong, was stretched off of the pitch during Wednesday night’s Scottish Premiership League matchup with Kilmarnock. Alan Power, a Kilmarnock midfielder, made a nasty challenge on Jeremie Frimpong that left the youngster injured.

Alan Power was able to walk away without even a booking, to much surprise and frustration from Celtic and its fans. Now, Hoops captain Scott Brown has come out swinging at the Scottish Football Association (SFA) about the clear lack of equality amongst clubs and players.

Scottish football has recently had a pandemic of referees being viewed as impartial, and after the incident involving Alan Power and Jeremie Frimpong, it is easy to see why.

Speaking with Sky Sports, Hoops captain Scott Brown did not mince his words in regards to the situations on the pitch, and with the refereeing:

"“I think if I’d done that tackle, it would become reckless, everyone would have surrounded the ref and stuff like that.“We’ve seen it back and both feet are off the ground. If I’m in that situation, there would be a lot of people, a lot of punters, a lot of fans putting pressure on me to get a suspension and to get sent-off.“I think it’s the levels (of refereeing) we want maintained so that the same thing happens in every single game.”"

It is unclear to how much time Jeremie Frimpong will miss with his injury, though it did look significant. Jeremie Frimpong has been an absolute revelation since taking over for the injured Hatem Abd Elhamed.

This one instance on Wednesday highlights what Celtic and its fans already knew: the referees do not treat or police each club with any type of impartiality. More oversight is needed on how the game is policed by the SFA and its referees. If nothing changes, then more players are likely to see injuries occur. That is not a precedent or reputation that the SFA should want for Scottish football.
