Celtic are interested in bringing back one of their former players to Parkhead after his meteoric rise at Hearts this season.

When Kieran Tierney left Celtic in order to join Arsenal in the summer, the Hoops were always going to have a tough time replacing their star man. Despite not having a long career in the Green-and-White shirt, the Scot had made a huge impact on the club in a short amount of time. And his departure left the Hoops scrambling to find a suitable replacement at left-back.

Boli Bolingoli was brought in from Rapid Vienna but the Belgian struggled immensely in his first few appearances for the Hoops. As a result, the fans were absolutely desperate for the club to bring in another left-back and this time Greg Taylor was brought in from Premiership rivals, Kilmarnock.

The hole left behind by Tierney still remains unfilled though. Bolingoli has come a long way since those early days but question marks still remain over his head. On the other hand, Greg Taylor has spent a large portion of his Celtic career on the bench and looks like a panic buy from the board at this point of time with no future at the club. Funnily, Celtic might have had the answer to Tierney’s departure closer to home but they let him leave.

Aaron Hickey was a part of the Celtic youth setup but the club let him go in 2018. It is safe to say that was huge error of judgement. The 17-year-old has emerged in a big way this season and has already established himself in the Hearts first-team, having already made 25 appearances for them.

And as reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic are now interested in bringing back their former youth star to Parkhead. Hearts rate him at around £1.5-million, but Celtic can sign him for lower as they will get 30% of any transfer fee that Hearts receive for Hickey because he came through the Hoops’ developmental ranks.
