It looks like Celtic are set to miss out on the £5 million-rated transfer target after he signed a new contract with his club.

Business has picked up at Celtic in the last few days. The club have already completed the signing of 21-year-old Polish striker Patryk Klimala from Jagiellonia Bialystok after activating his £3.5 million release clause. And they are also close to signing Ivory Coast midfielder, Ismaila Soro, from Israeli club Bnei Yehuda in the next few days.

Thus, the Celtic fans have a lot of reasons to be happy about at this moment. But as is natural in the transfer market, the club is not going to be able to shine all their targets. And one of them is highly-rated Danish wonderkid, Mohamed Daramy. The winger has been compared to Sadio Mane this season after putting in a number of impressive performances.

The 18-year-old winger has been absolutely brilliant this season. In 25 appearances for FC Copenhagen, he has scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists. And his displays have seen him get linked with the likes of Liverpool and Celtic. But both are set to miss out on the Dane as he has signed a new contract with his club. As reported by Bold, Daramy has signed a contract extension that will keep him at FC Copenhagen till 2023.

It is a smart move on the part of the 18-year-old. He is not expected to get the minutes that he does right now at FC Copenhagen if he moved to big club. As a result, this is possibly the best decision that he could have taken keeping his development as a footballer in mind. Of course, a new contract does not mean that he cannot move. It just means that his club are now in a better position to negotiate a higher transfer fee for the youngster if they were to sell him.

Celtic though will get to witness first-hand what they are missing out on, when they take on Daramy’s FC Copenhagen in the Round of 32 of the Europa League.
