Neil Lennon teases arrival of new signings at Celtic
Celtic have failed to make a signing in the January transfer window till now but Neil Lennon has some positive news regarding the situation.
Celtic fans cannot be blamed for being frustrated with the club at the moment. After losing at home to Rangers for the first time in almost a decade, it was expected that the club would bring in a number of new signings in this January transfer window in order to regain some of the momentum that they lost as a result of their defeat.
But nothing of that sort has happened yet. Instead the only business that the club have done till now has resulted in Scott Sinclair leaving in order to join Preston North End, with Lewis Morgan also on the verge of a move away from the club to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami. On top of all that, the players that have been linked with a move to Parkhead are extremely underwhelming but at this point, anything is better than nothing.
Finally, there is some good news on the transfer front as Neil Lennon has claimed that the club is only days away from making new signings. As reported by Sky Sports, Lennon said:
"“We have had three or four important calls between the staff and the club and obviously patience is the key.“January is a difficult month to bring players in. Other clubs know that when you are the buying club, agents do as well.“However, we have a number of options and got our eye on a few players and hopefully we will have a result in the next few days.”"
If that is indeed the case then it is about time. With nine-in-a-row hanging by a loose thread, the board’s complacency has been concerning to say the least. A number of positions clearly need reinforcements in this transfer window but time is quickly running out. Any further delay could huge consequences at the end of the season.
