Scottish National team player believes that Celtic should sign one of the current stars to a permanent deal thanks to a £7-million price drop.

With the numerous players Celtic has been linked to in the previous months and weeks leading up to the winter transfer window, Alan Hutton wants the Hoops to make a signing for a player that is already on the club on loan.

The player in question is winger Mohamed Elyounoussi. The Norwegian came to Parkhead on loan from English Premier League-side Southampton during the summer transfer window. Since his arrival, Mohamed Elyounoussi has scored seven goals and added another six assists in just 13 appearances.

Mohamed Elyounoussi originally costed Southampton £16-million to acquire the winger. Now, Southampton is offering Celtic the chance to sign the player for just £9-million, a significant discount for the star.

Speaking to Football Insider, Alan Hutton believes that Celtic should pull the trigger for the winger:

"“But I rate him very highly as a player and I think it would be a good price for him, he’s still young, he’s a very talented boy, he gets bums off seats, he lifts the crowd and he’s done excellent since he went there.“He’s had a couple of injuries, but he’s still a great player.“For a Scottish team, £9million is still a lot of money, Celtic have been there and splashed that type of money before, and it’s obviously worked out for them.”"

£9-million is what the Hoops dished out in order to acquire their superstar in Odsonne Edouard. Could they do the same for Mohamed Elyounoussi? The Norwegian has suffered injury this year, but when he is on the field his electric play creates opportunities.

With a significant discount, and a clear need to solidify the midfield for the foreseeable future, Mohamed Elyounoussi could be that answer for Celtic. We know Hoops fans would love to see him stay beyond just this season.
