Celtic appear to be closing in on their first major move of the January transfer window after transfer target was spotted in Dubai.

Celtic have not been very active in the transfer window till now. After losing at home to Rangers, it was expected that the board would bring in a number of reinforcements to Parkhead in order to tilt the balance of the title race back in the Hoops’ favour. But the first week of the new year is already gone and not nobody has been brought in yet.

Instead, Scott Sinclair has already left the club to join Preston North End. Lewis Morgan also appears to be on the way out as well as the club have reportedly accepted a six-figure bid for the youngster from David Beckham’s Inter Miami. And while some might consider it a weak move on Morgan’s part, there are far worse things to do in life than to get paid to play football in the Miami sun.

There is finally some good news though as it looks like that Celtic are close to completing the signing of Ismaila Soro. The 21-year-old has been linked with the Scottish champions for quite some time now and was spotted in Dubai recently.

Interesting, the Hoops are also in Dubai at the moment, training during the winter break before they return to action on January 18th against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup. And while Dubai is not an unique holiday destination, there are high chances that his spotting is somehow linked with Celtic. The fact that he followed the Hoops on Instagram recently has only provided fuel to the fire.

Soro currently plays for Israeli side, Bnei Yehuda, and has been very impressive since joining the club in 2018. If Celtic do manage to sign the Ivorian, he is expected to provide competition to Scott Brown and Callum McGregor in midfield.
