Celtic is looking to add talent this transfer window, but that hasn’t stopped the rumours of one superstar in particular possibly featuring for a new club in January.

Celtic fans for months have had to deal with high-flying rumours that superstar striker Odsonne Edouard could be seeing his departure from the club this month. After a prolific start to the season, Odsonne Edouard is highly sought after by multiple clubs across the globe, in including some of the biggest and most well-known.

Many have wondered if the Hoops would even entertain the thought of allowing Odsonne Edouard to leave during the winter transfer window. With Rangers looking like a title contender, and the bhoys in Green and White making a surprise out of winning their Europa League group, how could they afford to lose their best player?

Furthermore, injuries to key strikers Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Issouf Bayo make the likelihood of Odsonne Edouard departing even slimmer. Instead, the Hoops will try to add a striker to back up Odsonne Edouard.

One club in particular who was interested in the striker was English Premier League-side Crystal Palace. According to The Sun, Crystal Palace won’t even make a bid on Odsonne Edouard until the summer transfer window now:

"“Hodgson is willing to wait as Palace are getting no encouragement in a move for first-choice target Odsonne Edouard at Celtic.“The Frenchman is valued at about £30m and the Glasgow club cannot afford to lose him because they have a title race to fight and are hoping to have an extended Europa League campaign this year.”"

While the Hoops normally remain tight-lipped on transfer business, other clubs have no problem leaking such information. The fact that a club like Crystal Palace is going wait until the summer transfer window speaks volumes on where the board and Neil Lennon believe this Celtic squad can go.
