Darren Bent, a former English striker, believes that one Celtic superstar in particular could be frustrated about his future.

Former England striker, and English Premier League legend Darren Bent believes that one Celtic superstar may be frustrated concerning his future with the club, as well as all the speculation that goes with it. The player in question is goalkeeper Fraser Forster. The big man is on loan from Southampton for his second stint with the club.

Fraser Forster has been an absolute revelation for the Hoops this season, and has answered the Hoops big question mark at the goalkeeper position this season. With Scott Bain and Craig Gordon not being long-term solutions at the position, a reunion with Forster for at least season seemed like a good plan.

Well, it has worked out, and now the big question is whether Fraser Forster will make a permanent move from Southampton to Celtic. But, would Fraser Forster actually want to make the move from the English Premier League to Scotland?

Speaking to Football Insider, Darren Bent answers that question:

"“I can kind of understand where some players come from, he’s only on loan from Southampton, so there is the idea to get back to the Premier League which is the best league in the world.“But at the same time if you go up to Scottish football and play for Celtic and Rangers, but Celtic in particular due to their history, they’re always competing for titles, always competing for Champions League football.“It’s hard to turn down and end up back at Southampton, who could potentially be in the Championship, or join a team fighting to stay in the Premier League.“It’s a toughie as the days of Scottish teams spending big on players and wages are gone, and if they’re going to demand £25million that is frustrating for him as you think Celtic aren’t going to pay that.”"

Here is the flip side to all of this though, if Fraser Forster returns to Southampton, what type of role would he be returning to? He was allowed to come on loan to Celtic due to the fact that he had fallen as far as fourth down the depth chart at his position in Southampton.

Would Southampton really allow him the chance to start just because of what he has done for the Hoops in Scotland? Doubtful. Instead, Southampton wants to talk up his transfer fee, and in reality, that could see none of that.

As Darren Bent said, this has to be incredibly frustrating for Fraser Forster considering his future is up in the air in the manner it is.
