FULL-TIME CELTIC 2-1 LAZIO

These are the nights we live for. Thank you to everyone who joined our live blog.

90+5′ WHAT A SAVE! Forster! My god! What a save! That ball was travelling and the Englishman somehow pulls off a save!

90+4′ YELLOW CARD! Ajer is booked and Lazio have a free-kick in a good area to cross it in.

90+2′ Edouard almost puts the game to bed but he is blocked by the the defender.

5 minutes of added time.

89′ GOOOOOOOOALLLLLL! Jullien! 2-1. What a time to score from a corner.

87′ YELLOW CARD! Cataldi goes into the book for an awful challenge on Bitton. Could have been red on other day.

85′ Brilliant linkup between Edouard and Christie. Just missing the finish from the French striker.

SUBSTITUTION

Hayes ON

Bolingoli OFF

84′ Lazio cut through the Celtic defence again but Immobile puts it wide to the relief of Hoops fans.

SUBSTITUTION

Bitton ON

Elhamed OFF

Celtic are leaving things wide open at the back again. It is what cost them the goal out of nowhere in the first half. Forster certainly made up for conceding on his near post with that save.

80′ WHAT A SAVE! Forster saves from point blank range.

78′Great play from Elhamed to put Forrest through. The winger should have looked for Rogic there instead of going on his own and ultimately losing the ball.

76′ YELLOW CARD! Bastos goes into the book for lunging into McGregor.

75′ Awful from Bolingoli to first lose the ball and then leaving the left completely free to Lazzari. Somehow Celtic escape without conceding.

73′ The Italians have brought on Immobile and Lulic. They are certainly not looking to settle for a draw.

67′ GOOOOOOOOALLLLLLL! Christie you beauty! Edouard sets Christie up and he makes no mistake. Brilliant. We are level! 1-1!

SUBSTITUTION

Rogic ON

Elyounoussi OFF

65′ Correa’s shot comes off the post. We have been let off the hook there.

62′ YELLOW CARD! Elyounoussi goes into the referee’s book.

60′ An hour gone and the Hoops find themselves a goal behind to the visitors.

59′ Good chance for Celtic. A Forrest shot is blocked before McGregor heads straight at the Lazio keeper.

53′ Elyounoussi tries to curl one in but it is deflected into the keeper’s hands.

46′ We are back underway. All to play for in the second half. Come on you Bhoys in Green.

Half-time We go into the break one goal down despite being clearly the better team for large parts of the game. A lot of work to do in the second half.

40′ GOAL! Lazzari puts Lazio ahead completely on a counter attack against the run of play.

38′ McGregor shoots from distance and it clearly takes a deflection, but the referee adjudges it to be a goal-kick.

37′ A dangerous low cross from Elyounoussi almost finds Forrest.

35′ Absolutely brilliant from Jullien there. Both defensively and then to send Edouard free with a ball from deep. But Lazio manage to somehow clear the danger.

33′ Bolingoli almost gets his head to a looping cross. But is adjudged to have fouled in the process.

31′ Good awareness shown by Bolingoli to cut out a Lazio through ball and then send Celtic on a counter. But it ultimately comes to an end when Christie is taken out by a Lazio defender but no foul is given.

30′ Ajer tries to surge forward but is forced to make a foul after losing the ball.

29′ Lazio have a corner but straight at a Celtic defender, who clears with a header.

25′ Still goalless. But this is turning out to be a close affair. And might end up being decided by a solitary goal.

18′ Forster makes to saves in quick successions as  Lazio have their first sniff at goal.

16′ Christie inches away from putting Celtic ahead with a shot from the edge of the box.

In other news, Cluj have taken an early lead against Rennes and as things stand, they’re at the top of the group now.

10′ The first ten minutes of the game gone and Celtic are looking like the better team at the moment. Lazio have had to deal with a couple of corners and an early Edouard effort till now.

3′ Edouard has a chance early after some good work down the right from Forrest. But the shot is blocked by a Lazio defender.

Celtic welcome Lazio tonight as they look to maintain their unbeaten start to the Europa League campaign. The Hoops are currently first in the Scottish Premiership land fresh off of a dominant 6-0 win over Ross County. But Celtic will be without Olivier Ntcham, Mikey Johnston and Leigh Griffiths against the Italians.

Celtic are currently at the top of their Europa League group as well after following up an opening day draw against Rennes with a dominant win over Romanian Champions, CFR Cluj, a side that eliminated them from the UEFA Champions League qualifiers this season.

On the other hand, Lazio have not had a great start to their season. They are in seventh position in the Seria A after the first 8 games of the season. But the Romans have managed to pull it back with a win over Rennes in the last matchweek after a loss on opening day away to CFR Cluj.

But there is good news for Celtic with Ciro Immobile only making the bench while Luis Alberto has been completely out of the squad. The duo are two of the most important players for Lazio and as a result they will surely be missed by the team when they take on the Scottish champions.
