With the international break coming to an end, Celtic will return to Premiership action as they travel to New Douglas Park to take on Hamilton. But the Scottish Champions have been dealt an early blow as one of their first-team stars has confirmed he’ll miss the game on Saturday with injury.

On Saturday, Celtic will return to League action for the first time since their brilliant 2-0 win against bitter rivals, Rangers, away at Ibrox. With 12 points from a possible 12, the Scottish Champions will be looking to continue their perfect start to the Premiership season and extend their lead at the top of the table.

Standing in their path will be Hamilton, who have made an inconsistent start to their season. They have an impressive 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at home and a 2-2 draw away at Hearts. But they have also suffered big defeats at the hands of Ross County and Motherwell, and it is hard to say which version of the Hamilton side will show up on Saturday.

Celtic though have already been dealt an early blow with youngster Mikey Johnston ruling himself out of the game. The 20-year-old had been subbed off late against Rangers with what had appeared as a bad case of cramps but has turned to be an injury which saw being sent back home from the Scotland Under-21 squad, missing games against San Marino and Croatia as a result.

According to Football Scotland, the winger has now revealed that he has a groin strain and will not able to feature in Celtic’s game against Hamilton as well but doesn’t expect to spend too much time on the sidelines. Johnston said:

"“I’ve just got a groin strain so I’ll miss the weekend’s game (at Hamilton) but I’ll hopefully be back after that.”"

Johnston has been in great form for the Glasgow side this season, already scoring 4 times in just 9 starts. He has also managed to displace Scott Sinclair from the first-team and become a regular starter under Neil Lennon.

But the Celtic academy product has already had fitness issues this season with him earlier missing a couple weeks of action with a few niggling injury problems. Missing time might be something Johnston cannot afford anymore though will Mohamed Elyounoussi now at the club on loan from Southampton and hungry for regular football coming off a failed first season in the Premier League.
