HT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Initial Thoughts:

Th match has been incredibly scrappy. It is hard to tell what is for show in order to gain an advantage, or what is truly a possible injury considering the amount of fouls going around.

Boli began the match looking nervous, and since picking up the knock has looked shaky. His confidence is at a low.

Elhamed looks good on defence and has been a great highlight.

45‘: Four-minutes of injury time added. Celtic defence looks like they need a break.

44′: Rangers once again testing the backline of Celtic. Rangers have been squandered every opportunity they have had today much to the benefit of the Celtic defence.

42′: Good defensive play by James Forrest ending Rangers attack.

37′: Boli is back on the field playing, but appears injured and limping.

35‘: Bolingoli makes a sliding challenge and is down. Medical personnel are now on the field.

32′: GOALLLLL!!!!!!! Odsonne Edouard finds the back of the net! Rangers 0-1 Celtic!

30′: Shot on goal for Rangers. Offsides. Forster makes a fantastic save anyways to keep things 0-0.

28′: Free kick for Celtic. 35-yards from goal. Edouard takes the kick and fires it wide left of goal.

26′: Rangers are beginning to put a lot of pressure on Celtic. Momentum has once again shifted.

23′: Edouard would have had a great shot  on goal, if he were not absolutely trucked by a Rangers player. No foul given.

22′: Christie just misses the mark on his pass. Ends a great attacking opportunity.

20′: Last five-minutes have given neither side any real opportunity to score.

16′: Elhamed will continue in the game.

15′: Elhamed went up for a challenge and appears to have hit heads with Flannagan.

10‘: After the first 1-minutes, Celtic looked great very early on. Rangers have begun to control the momentum now.

9′: Rangers threatened but ultimately squandered an opportunity. Elhamed saved the day with a great challenge.

7′: Corner kick for Christie. Rangers clear it.

2′: Christie takes the first shot of the match. Just wide right. Celtic has had complete control of the match early on.

12:01pm BST: Kickoff! CEltic gets us started.

Kick-Off Time: 12:00 pm BST

The Hoops will travel to cross-city rivals Rangers’ Ibrox stadium on Sunday afternoon in the first Old Firm Derby of the season. With both teams on 9 points from the first 3 games of the season, the winner will go to the top of the table.

Neil Lennon is without a couple of key players in the form of Kris Ajer, who has been the best defender in all of Scotland this season, and Jozo Simunovic. A back-line consisting of Elhamed, Jullien, Bitton and Bolingoli will be a cause for concern for the fans of the team in green and white. But the attack has been in top form recently and goals are expected to come with Edouard, Christie, Forrest and Johnston, all in the starting XI today.
