A player who was supposedly destined for great things when he was at Hibernian. He had both Celtic and Rangers linked with a move for him, and despite supporting Rangers as a boy he made the move to Celtic Park facing immense abuse and outrage from Rangers supporters – including a high profile fan rep hurling homophobic abuse at the player.

He was sent out on loan to Rotherham, Dundee and then back to his previous club Hibernian but despite a permanent move being talked of in the summer, the 27-year-old remained at Celtic. Rarely making the matchday squad and not appearing for the first team at all this season.

His contract is up this summer, but Celtic should move him on for a nominal fee in January. Whether it is back to Hibs – with manager Neil Lennon interested in bringing him back to the capital – or elsewhere his time at Celtic have been one of immense disappointment.

The 2-1 defeat to St.Johnstone on the 11th May 2016 was the last time he played in the Celtic first team. At 27, he needs to move to a club where he is almost guaranteed first-team football.
