Celtic are linked to another member of Chelsea. Charly Musonda continues to be rumored with the Glasgow side, while Lewis Baker has recently joined his teammate within the mill.

Baker is in the same boat with Musonda as far as playing time. Musonda rarely sees minutes at Stamford Bridge, while Baker has only made 12 appearances for Middlesbrough this season.

The 22-year-old’s playing time has taken a major dip on his stats. Baker has only totaled 2 goals in 586 minutes with the Championship side thus far.

Chelsea have a huge history of loaning an enormous amount of players out during one season. Both Baker and Musonda are likely going to head into the loan category of the London side, and Celtic could possibly pick up both the youngsters.

Both feature in the attacking midfield and can also play on the wing. Additions could help the Celts become more versatile in the attack while providing youth for many years to come. Plus, nobody knows what the future holds for Moussa Dembele at Paradise.

Football Transfer Tavern says that Baker needs to leave England for his career, and his talent would be perfect to compete with Scottish Premiership defenses.

"Baker featured regularly towards the start of the year for Boro but Garry Monk froze him out and he has not made a league appearance since September. Baker could be the short term solution to Celtic’s problems and there might even be the prospect of signing one of England’s best young players on a permanent deal, given the competition for places in the Chelsea squad."

At the moment, Baker is valued around 5.5 million pounds. The loan option makes the most sense if the Hoops were really after Musonda and Baker in this window, as they combine for a market value of over 10 million pounds.

However, it would be great for the Bhoys to try and sign the “buy” option on both deals. Musonda and Baker will not earn good minutes at Chelsea any time soon, but they can surely become a critical part of Brendan Rodgers‘ starting lineup in the near future.
