Surprise Team:

Andy: Hibernian

Call it the Neil Lennon affect or whatever you want, Easter Road has a new feeling and aura of confidence around it. That could do wonders, not to mention the fact that they have so many off-loaded Celtic players that this squad is likely one that competes for a top 4 finish and European football. Don’t be surprised if Celtic and Hibs meet in one, if not both cup finals either, because this seems to be a squad looking for domestic trophies to help get them to European football next season. Will they be able to do that with league position alone? I think they get very close and surprise a lot of people with how easy they make it look.

Conall: Hibernian

There seems to be a new found sense of belief and character around Easter Road since Lennon’s appointment. I predict that this will continue through this season with the Hibees pulling out a few shock victories along the way. I can see a decent cup run in one of the two domestic trophies also as Lennon has shown he has the skills and the tactical know how to win the big cup ties. The recent acquisition of Anthony Stokes will only strengthen the green and white half of Edinburgh and help Lennon and co bring sunshine back over Leith.
