Russell Canouse, Hoffenheim (Midfielder)

Earlier this week I thought that perhaps this move would make zero sense for the immediate future. Then James Forrest stunk up the joint against Rosenborg and Celtic found themselves in need of more in attack.

Guess who happens to play right wing and can play up top if needed? Yep, American youngster Russell Canouse. He’s got a lot of natural ability and plays with German side Hoffenheim’s second team right now.

Champions League football is in the future, but there are serious questions if Canouse is going to be on the squad for that. I say it’s time for the young American attacker to make a move to help progress his career.

While that move is likely somewhere in Germany, I’d take a good hard look at his abilities and inquire about his availability sooner than later.

Dare I say, Canouse reminds me so much of what Patrick Roberts brings to the table…if Roberts can’t get on board, Canouse would be one heck of a young option to add to the mix.
