3 players Celtic should sign this summer
With taste of champagne still lingering in the mouths of Celtic players and fans alike coming off the back of one of the best seasons in the clubs history. The summer transfer rumor mill has well and truly started turning.
Preparation for next seasons Champions league qualifiers is already under way and teams are scouring the country for new talent to bolster their ranks.
Brendan Rodgers’ men may be on a well deserved holiday after an invincible season domestically, but that has not stopped excited fans from salivating over potential recruits that are being linked with the Scottish Champions.
Being one of those fans, here are some of the players that I would love to see in green and white hoops next year.
James McCarthy
Self confessed hoops fan McCarthy has been on Brendan Rodgers radar before as he tried to persuade the Irish man to come to Celtic Park on loan this time last year. Since then the 26 year old has suffered a hamstring injury that ruled him out of the end of last season but is said to be progressing quite well in his quest for fitness.
The inclusion of McCarthy in the middle of the park would take some of the burden of skipper Scott Brown while providing some attacking flair and creativity going forward. Celtic may need to move quick however as The Daily Mail have confirmed that some Premier league clubs including Newcastle and Crystal Palace are also keen on securing McCarthy’s services.
Pontus Jansson
Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson is an old style central defender who has a bit of flair to his game. He has become somewhat of a cult hero to the whites fans since his signing from Torino in the 2016/17 season after a successful loan spell. Jansson would add formidable depth to an already solid Celtic defense especially with the games coming thick and fast in the early portion of the season. Like McCarthy however, he may be hard to nail down. Southampton are rumored to be interested in Jansson as a direct replacement for former Celt Virgil Van Dijk.
Cyle Larin
Cyle Larin may be an unfamiliar name to Hoops fans and European fans for that matter, as he currently plies his trade in MLS with Orlando City. He may be a relative unknown but trust me this kid is the real deal. At just 22 Larin has been lighting up the eastern conference with his phenomenal ability in front of goal.
His breakthrough season in MLS saw the young Canadian set the record for goals in a rookie season with 17 in 2015. He is already on course to beat that record this year however, netting 8 times in just 15 games.

In my opinion all three of these players would be excellent additions to Brendan Rodgers record breaking hoops side. We can hope that the lure of Champions League football could prove too great for each of them to turn down.
