Fewest Defeats in a Season

If you set a record for most wins in a season, chances are you also will topple the fewest losses in a season as well. That’s exactly what is at stake for the Bhoys as this season comes to a close.

Currently, Celtic hold this record as well — with just one loss in the 2001-02 season on their record.

All the talk the last three months or so has been about Celtic and its “invincible” season. It seemed as if the biggest hurdle to that possibility wasn’t the fact that there were plenty of league matches ahead. Instead, most worried about the date with Sevco in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Now a date with Aberdeen, who played Celtic very tough on Friday night, in the Scottish Cup final seems to be the worrisome match ahead. It has seemed like an unbeaten league season has been in the bag for months now.

Squad rotations, severe injury situations and the introduction of younger players to the squad has done little to stop the record-breaking league campaign Celtic have been on. With just two matches left on the docket, Celtic are likely to be razor-focused on the task at hand.

Let’s see if that focus can lead to dominating performances to close out all sorts of records for the Hoops.
