Most Points in a Season

Celtic’s win on Friday over Aberdeen put them on exactly 100 points. That is an incredible feat itself, but all it did was keep Celtic on pace to break its own SPL and club record for points in a season.

But, before you think I’m going to bring up the incredible 2003-04 season, Celtic hold the record for points thanks to the 2001-02 season. That season saw Celtic earn 103 points.

That means with the Celtic side of this season need a win and a draw to secure the most points ever in SPL and club history. With no more league matches against either Aberdeen or Sevco on the table that seems to be very likely to occur.

Dare we say the new record is likely to stand at 106 points? Celtic finish off this season with Glasgow rivals Partick Thistle away and the home finale against Hearts. That’s not exactly the most daunting of tasks ahead for this club, but they will need to keep focus to accomplish this goal.
