Previously we talked about Scott Brown’s insane night against Manchester City in a historic 3-3 tie. However, that moment doesn’t happen if Brown doesn’t score perhaps his most important goal of his career back in August.

Celtic needed to get past Israeli side Hapoel Beer-Sheva in the final playoff round to make the Champions League group stage. It appeared they would comfortably make it happen in the first leg as Celtic raced out to a 3-0 halftime lead.

However, the visitors scored twice in the span of five minutes and the tie became a 3-2 affair in the 55th minute. Not good news for the hosts, but it appeared things were in good order as Moussa Dembele erased the two away goals with a beautiful strike in the 73rd minute to put the Bhoys up 4-2.

Then the Bhoys got an extra goal as the match was winding down, as Brown struck the back of the net for a 5-2 lead in the 85th minute.

Brown got two bites of the apple, badly duffing a left-footed effort at the top o the box before getting it on his stronger right foot and blasting it in to the net.

At the time it just felt like insurance, but upon a 2-0 loss in the return leg, it actually became the goal that put the Bhoys through to the Champions League group stage draw.

Let’s just say Broonie has had his share of legendary moments, and there are likely many more to come based off his play this season.
