What a season Celtic are in the midst of right now — qualified for the Champions League group stage, hoisted the League Cup title and unbeaten in domestic play. Such has been the quick turnaround of the club with the hire of Brendan Rodgers has manager.

Entering the season there was talk and wonder amongst some in the fan base over the quality of captain Scott Brown’s performances. After all, at 31 years old, how much longer could he be counted on to be a quality performer for the Hoops? Besides, Brown scored just one goal all of last season.

Something needed to change if Brown was to avoid fading in to the background of the club he’s been the heart of for the better part of a decade.

Well, apparently all it took was the right manager to get Brown’s career back on track. Celtic’s captain has been in top form all season long and has even logged the best passing rate of anyone in British football (at least back to November) in the Champions League.

Heck, he’s even given serious consideration to a full return to Scottish international duty in the summer. Whether that happens or not, Brown has put to rest the talk of his career on the decline. Instead, he continues to show that he’s got plenty left in the tank for club and country.
