What would a Celtic run to the Champions League group stage be without a matchup against Barcelona, right?
Mid-week nights on Europe’s biggest stage are once again in the offing for the Bhoys in green, as they take on Barcelona, Borussia Monchengladbach and Manchester City in Group C of Champions League play.
Following Celtic’s 5-1 drubbing of new Glasgow rivals, Rangers, this past weekend confidence is high amongst the squad. Still, taking care of Rangers is one thing and besting one of the best clubs in the world at their place to open UCL action is a whole different challenge.
It is a challenge made easier by the fact that star striker Lionel Messi is unlikely to feature for Barca. Still, what will Celtic do to counter a technically gifted and scary side? Well, one thing is for sure…don’t expect Rodgers’ side to come in afraid to play in this match.
