It is impossible to predict how things will turn out in the final few days of the summer transfer window. The hope is that Celtic are able to strengthen, with their Champions League qualification exit at the hands of Kairat proving to be a wake-up call. But then again, you never know with the Hoops. In fact, players are being linked with moves away already.
Just yesterday, news broke that Birmingham City were in talks to sign Yang Hyun-jun. Now, it looks like another Celtic player is drawing interest from down south ahead of deadline day.
And it is someone who has received heavy criticism from the supporters in recent weeks amid his struggles for form. As reported by CeltsAreHere, reports from journalist Alan Nixon claim that Swansea City are considering a move for Adam Idah before the deadline.
Idah has struggled to lead the line for Celtic so far this season, completely looking out of form and confidence. He was one of the players who missed a spot kick against Kairat when the game went to penalties after two goalless draws.
€10m Celtic player tipped to make summer exit out of nowhere
It is safe to say that Celtic ended up overpaying to bring the striker to Parkhead last summer, on the back of an excellent loan spell. They are believed to have shelled out an initial fee in the region of £8.5 million to Norwich City plus another million in add-ons.
So far, Idah has not met expectations. In fact, he has not even gotten close. Yes, he did score 20 goals last season but whenever the chance comes to make the number 9 spot his own, he fails to deliver.
And that the role that Celtic need a £9.5 million striker to play. Unfortunately, it looks like Idah just does not have the required quality to do so.
