As we head towards the January transfer window, rumours and speculation are starting to pick up pace. Celtic are a team that always manages to find itself in the headlines. And if there is one thing that we have learned from their underwhelming performances over the last few weeks, it is that there is room for the Hoops to improve despite not losing a domestic game yet and still being in contention to make it to the playoff round of the Champions League.
On the other hand, quite a few players are being linked with Parkhead exits next month. Luis Palma, Stephen Welsh and Maik Nawrocki are some of the most prominent ones.
But the name of Kyogo Furuhashi has now cropped up in this regard as well. It looks like there is interest in the Japanese international from the MLS.
As reported by the Daily Mail (via Daily Record), Atlanta United have Kyogo on a list of options. The MLS club are thought to be willing to shell out up to £10 million for the Celtic striker.
£10 million offer being readied for Celtic superstar
Admittedly, Kyogo has struggled to recreate the form that he showed with Ange Postecoglou as manager since the Australian was replaced by Brendan Rodgers in the summer of 2023. But that does not mean that the club can consider parting ways with him.
Kyogo remains the starting striker for Celtic. Adam Idah was signed for a significant transfer fee in the summer but has remained the cover option since then, not doing enough to establish himself as the starter.
This is not the first time that Kyogo is being linked with a move away from Celtic in recent times either. In fact, he was believed to be a transfer target for Manchester City in the summer with Julian Alvarez leaving Pep Guardiola's side.
