It is always interesting to see former Celtic players move into management. Of course, someone whose managerial career that most fans will keep an eye on is Scott Brown. The legendary club captain could have easily tried to climb through by coaching the youth teams at Parkhead before taking his first steps in the senior game. But Broony has never been one to take the easy route.

Instead, he now finds himself in the English League One, managing Fleetwood Town. It remains to be seen how he does and if he is able to impress over the coming years, and at a higher level, it would not be a surprise to see Brown end up at Parkhead one day.

Another former Celtic player who has moved into management in recent times is Mark Fotheringham. He came through the youth ranks at the club but never went on to have an extensive career there.

He is now the manager of English Championship club, Huddersfield Town, and has actually made an interesting appointment in his assistant coach role.

Former Celtic player appoints Kenny Miller as assistant coach

As reported by Huddersfield Town’s official website, Miller has been appointed as assistant coach of the Championship club.

Huddersfield Town find themselves in a very difficult position right now and are bottom of the Championship table. Thus, it is safe to say that Fotheringham has a difficult task on his hands of guiding them to safety.

It must be pointed out in this regard that while Miller is mostly known for his several spells with the Rangers, he did play for Celtic as well and is one of the few players in the history of the game to represent both Glasgow giants.

Miller has tried his hand at management in the past, at Livingston and in a caretaker role at Falkirk.
