Celtic missed out on an Australian international in the form of Riley McGree but there is another one that they have been linked with for quite some time now without ever making a move.

Mooy already has plenty of experience of the Premier League and has even played in Scotland in the past. Thus, there will be very little doubts about him being able to adjust to the Scottish game. And Postecoglou will know him very well from his time as the Australian national team manager.

Mooy currently plays for Shanghai Port FC and is still just 31 years of age. Thus, he might still have a quite a bit of football left in the tank.

Of course, he is not a player exactly similar to McGree when it comes to their qualities and as a result, what is important is the fact whether Celtic are looking to make another addition in the middle of the park or someone to play a specific role.

Ahmed Kendouci

Another interesting name that has cropped up in recent days is that of Kendouci, who currently plays for ES Setif in Algeria and has also made his debut for the Algerian national team as well.

He has already shown quite a bit of potential. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in 34 league appearances last season.

Also, still just 22 years of age, he has plenty of time on his side to develop further and improve as a footballer.

Kendouci is believed to be rated at a transfer fee around £1 million although it must be pointed out that his club are not particularly keen on parting ways with the midfielder anytime soon.

Also, one has to wonder whether he is ready to make a mark for Celtic. At this point of time, he is playing in the Algerian league and that would be a big jump.
