Not too long ago, it had looked like Rogic’s Celtic career was over. He had been lost in the shuffle at Parkhead, with a number of injuries putting him in and out of action. He was heavily linked with a move away but it did not end up happening.

That is fortunate for Celtic, because Rogic looks as good as ever right now if not better. He proved to the difference against Motherwell but it is not just about the goal.

When Celtic appointed Ange Postecoglou as manager in the summer, fans would have hoped that he could get Rogic playing some good football. Nobody could have expected this kind of form from the Australian international though.

Rogic has been absolutely superb and his recent return from injury has been a major boost for the club.

One can only hope that Rogic remains injury free moving forward because he is once again one of the most important players in this Celtic side.

Injuries refuse to go away

There has not been a single match in December when Celtic have not been forced to make a change. Against Motherwell, James Forrest had to replaced early on in the first-half.

His inclusion in the starting XI was a bit of a surprise in the first place after it was only recently that he had picked up an injury and had been put out of action.

Forrest has been struggling with injury problems for more than a year now and it might be a good idea on the part of Celtic to strengthen on the wings in the upcoming January transfer window, with Mikey Johnston’s injury history well known too.

Several other players have picked up injuries in recent games as well. This was the seventh time in their four games in December till now that Celtic were forced into making a change.
