Celtic Predicted XI vs Bayer Leverkusen: Big away game in Germany
Defence, Midfield and Attack
Defence:
Anthony Ralston
Anthony Ralston has been quite a revelation this season and on current form, it is hard to see Postecoglou dropping him anytime soon.
Cameron Carter-Vickers
Cameron Carter-Vickers arrived on a season-long loan late on transfer deadline day this summer and it is safe to say that the centre-back was worth the wait. He has nailed down a spot in the first-team ever since coming in.
Stephen Welsh
He suffered an injury scare in the previous game, which could have possibly left Ange Postecoglou scrambling for options but fortunately, it does not appear to have been a big problem and he should be fit to feature in midweek.
Josip Juranovic
Although a natural right-back, he has played at left-back more often for Celtic since arriving in the summer and to be honest, done quite well there.
Midfield:
Nir Bitton
Nir Bitton did not feature much for a while but has come back into the first-team picture since Tom Rogic picked up an injury. And at the moment, he seems like the best option in defensive midfield for Celtic.
Callum McGregor
The Celtic captain has moved up the pitch a bit since Rogic’s injury and is thriving in that role as well. Mr Consistency for the Hoops.
David Turnbull
David Turnbull has gone through an up and down season till now. At times he has looked brilliant and at others not nearly as good. The Hoops will be hoping he is at his best when they face Bayer Leverkusen although his performances in big games have left a lot to be desired.
Attack:
James Forrest
James Forrest has been through a lot of injury problems in recent times but looks to be back in the first-team picture now. And after his goal sent them to the League Cup final at the weekend, it might be time to give him a start.
Jota
Jota has been brilliant on the left wing and should retain his place.
Kyogo
Perhaps the most important player to Postecoglou’s style of football, Kyogo should be allowed to keep doing his thing up top.
