Celtic Player Ratings vs Rangers: Bhoys Look Away

Here’s how we rated the Celtic players as they put in a terrible performance in a 2-1 loss to Rangers at Parkhead.

It is time to admit what we have been dreading for quite some time now. Rangers are genuine title contenders. And Celtic must act now or regret later as nine-in-a-row hangs in the balance.

Nei Lennon’s side put in a toothless display as they were completely outplayed at home by their fierce rivals. The score does not tell the full story as Rangers were far better than the 2-1 scoreline suggest. And Celtic players need take a long hard look in the mirror after being dominated by Steven Gerrard’s side for the second straight time. Fraser Forster might have saved them the blushes at Hampden Park but this time there is no hiding.

Fraser Forster – 6.5

Cannot be blamed for either of the goals. Made a few good saves as well. Probably Celtic were hoping for a repeat of Hampden heroics from him judging by the amount of chances they let Rangers have.

Jeremie Frimpong – 5

He still has a lot to learn but was not terrible. Took a few too many risks. But was much better than a lot of his senior teammates.

Christopher Jullien – 5.5

Won the penalty. Almost scored with a header. Not at his best defensively. But the better of the two centre-backs.

Kris Ajer – 5

Made too many mistakes and was lucky not to be punished due to Morelos’ wasteful finishing. Was at fault for Rangers’ second goal as he left Katic free.

Boli Bolingoli – 5.5

Will be blamed by a lot of the Hoops fans but he was not as bad as they will have you believe. Tried to make things happen but a lot of it did not come off.
