Neil Lennon makes bold statement about Celtic’s future

Celtic has found an immense amount of success this season. Despite that success, Neil Lennon believes his club can get even better.

Celtic has had an incredible amount of success this season in all facets of their play. The Hoops have run through the Europa League Group Stage, and secured the top seed out of Group E. Two weeks ago, the Bhoys secured their first hardware of the season after defeating Rangers at Hampden Park in the Scottish League Cup final.

Now, five points clear in the Scottish Premiership League table, the Hoops have the opportunity on Sunday to make that even more of discrepancy when they face Rangers at Parkhead in a Glasgow Derby match.

Come the new year, Celtic will have the opportunity to test themselves in the Europa League Knockout rounds, as well as go for the domestic league title. Furthermore, reinforcements could be on the way in January to further bolster an already deadly club.

However, Neil Lennon believes that his current club and players will get even better. He said so as much in his press conference on Tuesday:

“I think the team can get better.

“I think there’s more to come from them. They’re still young, a lot of them. Allied to that we’ve got some really talented players on top of that who are consistently, I think, underrated by some.

“I think what we’ve done in Europe this season has been spectacular, and what we’ve done domestically has been almost perfect.”

Neil Lennon makes a bold claim, but we think he can back it up. He does have a lot of raw talent, and due to injuries, a lot of young players have had to step up and take the place of veterans. Again, it speaks to the depth of the club, as well as the homegrown talent that has been cultivated.

This club has the opportunity to go as far as they want in the Europa League, and are by far the best club domestically. It is a scary thought to think when Neil Lennon says this already deadly club can get even better.
