Sky Sports Davie Provan believes that Alfredo Morelos‘ discipline issues on the pitch will continue against Celtic on Sunday.
Alfredo Morelos’ discipline issues on the pitch have not come as a surprise to many, especially Celtic fans who have seen him on multiple occasions try to take Hoops players out of the match with dirty play.
Alfredo Morelos’ actions finally came to a head when Rangers visited Motherwell last Sunday and the striker was booked twice for a yellow card, and was escorted out of the match. Morelos made motions towards the home fans after scoring a goal, and after some excuses were made, was shown the door.
None of these actions are new, nor are they surprising coming from the striker who holds himself in such high regard. His actions continually hurt his club on the pitch, as well as their reputation and image off of it.
Sky Sports Pundit Davie Provan believes that none of that will change in Celtic despite many in the media suggesting otherwise. Writing in his column for the Sun, he breaks down Morelos’ actions:
“SO much for the improved discipline of Alfredo Morelos.
“The Colombian’s needless red card at Fir Park was a kick in the teeth for his manager and team-mates.
“Spare me the idea he was reacting to abuse. Stick is part of the game.
“And if Morelos can’t be trusted to rein it in at Motherwell, what can Steven Gerrard expect if he finally breaks his duck against Celtic next Sunday?”
Clearly Davie Provan does not think Alfredo Morelos has turned a corner as many others have suggested. But then again, multiple excuses have always been afforded to Alfredo Morelos ever since he stepped foot on the shores of Scotland.
As we get closer to Sunday’s Glasgow Derby, the talk on both sides should only continue to grow, and everyone knows Alfredo Morelos won’t be able to contain himself and will get involved much to the advantage of Celtic.
