Another superstar has been signed to an extension that will see them stay with Celtic for another four years. So, who is the Bhoy that has committed to the Hoops?
James Forrest signed a new four-year deal that will see him stay with Celtic until the end of the 2023 season. Forrest was alluding to a possible new contract this past Monday, and now that has come to fruition. The bhoy has come up through the youth system and now has dedicated his prime to the club that has treated him so well.
Just hours after signing his new deal, the Bhoy went out and scored the Hoops’ second goal against St. Mirren after the Hoops had gotten off to a slow start in the first half.
Spending his entire career with the Hoops has allowed the Bhoy to rack up some goals. James Forrest has scored 81 goals during his tenure with Celtic. At 28-years old, the lad has decided to make it his career to stay in the green and white.
Speaking to Celtic TV, James Forrest shared his thoughts on what it means to sign a new deal:
“I love it here. I came through the youth academy and every year I just enjoy it more.
“I’m absolutely delighted to extend my stay here and I’m looking forward to winning more league titles and cups with the club.
“I’m absolutely delighted to get another contract. Now that it’s done, I want to focus on playing and helping the team.”
James Forrest has been one of, if not the most productive player on the Celtic squad since his debut. The case can most certainly be made that he has been one of the most consistent players. Celtic boss Neil Lennon has full trust and confidence in the lad when it comes down to it. Forrest’s production, and veteran leadership will prove invaluable in the next coming years.
