Celtic Predicted XI v St. Mirren: The Bhoys are back

Celtic hosts St. Mirren in a Wednesday night matchup. We take our best show at predicting the starting XI for the Hoops.

Celtic is coming off of back to back wins. One against Europa League Group rival Lazio, and then pummelled Aberdeen away from home last weekend. The momentum the team has gained over the last few weeks will surely carry over into the match against St. Mirren.

With such a heavy workload the Bhoys have experienced over the last few weeks, it would have been nice if Celtic boss Neil Lennon was able to give some of his squad a much needed rest. However, with some key injuries, it appears that a very typical, and possibly overworked squad will be pushed out onto the pitch on Wednesday.

To help alleviate some matters, Ryan Christie will return from suspension after earning a silly red card against Livingston earlier this month. Olivier Ntcham is expected to be able to play, which will be helpful considering Tom Rogic is reportedly out with knee inflammation for Wednesday’s match.

New bhoy Mohamed Elyounoussi has been on a tear lately, and it would not be surprising to see him once again take the pitch to continue the momentum he has built. James Forrest has also been on a tear, and considering his fitness he should be considered a lock to start. Undoubtedly, Odsonne Edouard will get the start. With both Vakoun Issouf Bayo and Leigh Griffiths out with injuries, Edouard is left as the lone striker.

On the defensive side of the pitch, Christopher Jullien appears ready to roll and should retake the pitch on Wednesday. The back line will once again retake its normal shape after some rest and injuries changed its look.
