Celtic went back to the top of the Scottish Premiership after title rivals Rangers only managed to get a draw away at Hearts. And Chris Sutton did not let the oppurtunity to get one back at Robbie Savage slide, by brutally trolling him on Twitter.
Rangers stay at the top of the Premiership was short lived as Celtic returned to the top of the Premiership table after a 6-0 demolition of Ross County on Saturday. Steven Gerrard’s men had the oppurtunity to regain top position on Sunday afternoon but let it slip (pardon the pun) after managing only a draw away at struggling Hearts. This means that the Hoops now have a one point lead at the top of the table.
One man who seems to be delighted with the result is former Celtic striker and current BT Sport pundit, Chris Sutton. It is no secret where the Englishman’s loyalties lie. And fellow pundit, Robbie Savage, has made a habit of using this to rile up Sutton whenever the Glasgow side falter.
Before the international break, Rangers had gone top of the Premiership after Celtic had suffered a 2-0 defeat away at Livingston. And Savage had tweeted out to Sutton asking for the League table. Things change very quickly in football though as Savage had to face the same treatment from his fellow Englishman today after Rangers dropped two points against Hearts and as a result dropped down to second as well.
This is what Chris Sutton tweeted to Savage following the match:
The tweet is especially funny when considering Savage’s earlier tweet at Sutton a couple of weeks ago after Rangers went top:
While it is nice to see some friendly banter between the two former players and current pundits, it is safe to say that we can give that round to Chris Sutton!
