Odsonne Edouard has been in red hot form this season scoring 9 goals in 13 starts for the Scottish Champions. Now the Frenchman has opened up about life at Celtic Park as exit rumours swirl around.
Odsonne Edouard has quickly blossomed into the enigma for Celtic under Neil Lennon. And the Frenchman is clearly enjoying the responsibility, having already scored in important European fixtures as well as last week’s 2-0 win away at Ibrox against Rangers in the Old Firm Derby.
But his impressive form has also seen the striker inevitably being linked with a move away from Celtic. The former Paris Saint-Germain striker was rumoured to have ‘agreed’ a move with AS Monaco earlier in the summer. But the move didn’t go through and Edouard ended up staying with the Scottish Champions.
Edouard scored back-to-back braces for the France Under-21 side and is clearly earning some rave reviews from the French football media. And recently he was again linked with a move away from Scotland, with Lyon being the team seeking his signature this time around. As long as Edouard keeps finding the back of the net, he will continue to be linked with a move to the French Ligue 1.
The Frenchman is currently away on international duty with the France Under-21 team and recently opened up about life at Parkhead in an interview with L’Equipe. French football journalist, Jeremy Smith, recently released Edouard’s comments regarding Celtic on Twitter:
Edouard’s comments will be music to Celtic fans’ ears as they will be desperate to keep hold of the Frenchman after losing a number of important players over the past few seasons. The French youth international is probably the first name on Neil Lennon’s team-sheet these days and it will be a huge loss for the Hoops if he did end up leaving. Let’s just hope he continues to enjoy life at Parkhead because fans surely enjoy seeing him play in a Celtic jersey.
