Celtic will host Championship side Dunfermline at Celtic Park on Saturday. After a heartbreaking loss to CFR Cluj in the Champions League Qualifying Rounds, Celtic will look to turn things around against Dunfermline.

Celtic has been thrust into the Round of 16 for the League Cup, and will make their debut into the competition on Saturday. Dunfermline has been playing well of late, but should not be factor for Celtic.

  • Scott Bain has been ruled out of Saturday’s fixture with Dunfermline with a hand injury. Reports suggest he could be out anywhere from one game to two months. Gordon should get the start on Saturday. The club has been linked with goalkeepers, most notably Southampton’s Forster. The rumours will only grow now that Bain is out.
  • The Hoops will face Swedish side AIK Fotboll in the Play-off Round of the Europa League. Tensions are high as fans expect to the club to continue in European competition. Reinforcements of any kind would be a sight for the fans’ sore eyes.
  • Finally, the club has been heavily linked with Rosenborg left-back Birger Meling. While talk has been high of a possible transfer, it remains to be seen if Rosenborg is willing to pull the trigger on the move. Meling would be a significant upgrade for the Hoops at the position.
