Predicting Celtic Starting XI vs. Dundee

With the Bhoys still flying high on the fumes of their 3-3 draw with Manchester City in the Champions League, it may be hard to focus on the task at hand. However, with a unbeaten record to defend in Scottish Premiership play, Celtic will not be looking backwards at all.

At least if manager Brendan Rodgers has anything to say about it. Funny enough, he will, and his team selection this weekend could speak volumes on how he rates his overall squad.

Sure, Dundee come in near the bottom of the SPFL table and sit on just six points (one point off bottom). That doesn’t mean the Celts can take things easy on Saturday afternoon, or can they?

Given the effort exerted against the Citizens, this could be a chance for Rodgers to find some rest for key players and allow those rounding in to form to continue to get a game.

Let’s take a look at our predicted Celtic starting XI.

Craig Gordon

Goalkeeper, Celtic

To say Celtic’s goalkeeping situation is a bit of a mess would be an understatement. Case in point, Gordon let in three goals against Manchester City and his two good saves are enough to show us he deserves to be the starter going forward. Sure, most teams let in three goals to the likes of Man City, but Gordon is clearly starting to show his age and injury history. He’ll do for now, but the Celts need to find a long-term answer and quick.
